Brand new beer arrives!
The brand new addition to the award-winning range of beers from St Austell Brewery will be available at the Ring of Bells this week (20 June).
Called Trelawny, it was launched two weeks ago during the Royal Cornwall Show and will form a part of the regular St Austell family of cask conditioned Ales.
Locally grown barley is gently roasted to give this beer a classic burnished copper colour and a robust full body which belies its modest strength. A unique blend of traditional English Golding, and specially imported Galaxy hops from distant South Australia harmonise to give this beer a distinctive character of the old, and the new world. Peach and apricot notes dominate the aroma, with hints of butterscotch and toffee apple. The taste is full, with toasted biscuit and jam being balanced by the mellow, yet assertive bitterness of tangy hops.
With an ABV of 3.8%, we're sure Trelawny will prove popular and we will stock it here from time to time as part of our rolling programme of guest ales from Westcountry brewers.
We also have Dobs Ale from the Exe Valley Brewery at Silverton near Exeter - also available this week.
